Will clinches Silver Racquet

WILL Flynn, who plays at Seacourt and lives on Hayling, has
won the prestigious Seacourt
Silver Racquet.
This tournament attracts top real
tennis players from around the
world, to compete for the Silver
Racquet.
The tournament is one of Seacourt’s biggest annual sporting
events. Many local businesses sponsor and support the event, which we
are very grateful for.

The tournament was held over five
days and we were treated to some
spectacular matches. It was fantastic
to see so many people at Seacourt,
watching and enjoying the show.
Will had some tough opponents
to play to get through, eventually
making the final. Here he met the
very talented Henry Henman.
It was a thriller of a final, each
point seemed to be a masterclass of
real tennis.
There was a large crowd and the
club was full of support for our local
superstar, Will.
What makes Will’s win even more
special is that he has now won the
Seacourt Silver Racquet three times
in a row – 2024, 2025 and now
2026. This is a first for the tournament which has been running for 53
years. Congratulations Will, we are
very proud of you!
So, now spring approaches. The
days are getting lighter and longer,
and the outdoor tennis courts are
getting busy.
There are many tournaments to
look forward to in the coming season, in all the sports – lawn tennis,
padel, pickleball, squash and real
tennis. The calendar is filling up
fast.
