Community minibus
Did you know that our Community Minibus
is available for any local Hayling-based group,
organisation or charity to use free of charge?
The bus has the capacity for 16 passengers plus
a driver. All we ask is for a relevant donation
to cover costs for each journey. The minibus is
managed through a charitable trust and funded
through money raised from the events we organise throughout the year.
Drivers must have a D1 category on their
licence to be eligible. We cover all insurance
and maintenance costs through our fund raising
events. If you’re involved in a local group that
could benefit from use of the minibus then please
get in touch by emailing minibus@hibc.org.uk
New members
We are always on the lookout for new members.
The club was founded by four local Hayling businessmen in 1964, it has evolved and welcomes
potential members from all walks of life.
If you would like to get involved and can spare
a few hours every two weeks for meetings and
time in between planning events, as well as being
prepared to roll your sleeves up and help at our
fund-raisers, please get in contact.
You can visit our website (search Hayling Island Businessmen’s Club) and go to the Contact
Us tab.
You’ll find a drop down menu with an option
to enquire about membership or message us via
our Facebook page.
All welcome at WAVE agm
By Sarah Maddox
WAVE Children’s Charity invites community stakeholders to its AGM on Wednesday, October 14th at
7pm at The Wave Building on Elm Grove.
The evening will be focused on voting in new
trustees to drive Wave forwards but is also an opportunity to find out more about us and our plans.
As a vital resource for the young people on Hayling Island, WAVE provides a safe hub offering hot
meals, mentoring, and free after-school activities
such as music, art, pool and a variety of games.
Incoming trustees will play a crucial role in maintaining these services, ensuring good governance,
and shaping long-term strategy.
Whether you are a stakeholder looking to cast
your vote, interested in becoming a trustee or a
resident eager to volunteer your professional skills
to support the next generation, please come along
and have your say.
